Author, lecturer, community advocate, and family historian
Aaron L. Day, is a lover of books, supporter of libraries, and promoter
of family history research. He specializes in – the search for free
African American Ancestors (pre-1865). Many people are
surprised to learn that about a half million, almost one-seventh of the
African Americans of this country, were free long before the end of the
Civil War in 1865.

for a national writing contest “Tracing My African American Ancestors”
